Presentation

Battery energy storage has reached a point where warranty coverage and reactive fixes are no longer enough. A reactive approach generally means waiting until alarms are triggered, dispatching technicians after faults occur, and relying on warranty claims that may not cover lost revenue during downtime. With unplanned downtime costing up to $1.5 million per 100 MWh annually, these methods are proving insufficient.

This pv magazine Webinar explores how advanced monitoring and independent operations transform storage from costly outages to predictable performance. We’ll focus on grounding the webinar in operational lessons and insights.

Joining us to explore proactive approaches is Ashutosh Vats, head of BESS business development at 3E, who will present how digital twins and the SynaptiQ APM platform enable early anomaly detection, proactive maintenance, and improved risk management.

Konstantin Fellner, head of BESS asset operations at BayWa r.e., will also present, sharing how operators can take more control of storage system performance by adopting independent operational models instead of relying solely on OEM and integrator frameworks.

A case study segment will further show insights for how strategies are applied in practice.

pv magazine Webinar content:

  • Introduction and market context: global BESS trends and the impacts and hidden costs of downtime
  • What reactive O&M looks like in practice, and why it falls short
  • BayWa r.e.’s approach to independent BESS operations compared with OEM/integrator models
  • How 3E’s digital twin and SynaptiQ APM support proactive maintenance and risk mitigation
  • Case study presentation – practical examples of stepping up
  • Q&A

Questions can be submitted beforehand in the comments window when registering or in the chat during the live webinar. Tristan Rayner, editor at pv magazine, will be the moderator of this webinar.
